David H. Watt, M.D. graduated from Wheaton College with a Bachelor of Science degree in chemistry and received his medical degree from Northwestern University Medical School. He completed an internship and a residency in orthopaedic surgery at the University of Illinois Hospital and Affiliates.
Dr. Watt has been in private orthopaedic practice in DuPage County since 1985, joining OAD Orthopaedics in 1990.
Dr. Watt is an orthopaedic surgeon specializing in the care of shoulder and knee problems,
and orthopaedic sports medicine; utilizing arthroscopic surgery as well as total
shoulder and knee replacement, and the new reverse shoulder replacement. He
serves as the team physician for Wheaton North High School and Wheaton College, where he also teaches as an adjunct faculty member in the Applied Health Science Department. Dr. Watt competed at the national level in collegiate gymnastics, and remains active in triathlons, racquetball, snowboarding, windsurfing and scuba diving.
Dr. Watt was founding chairman of DuPage Valley Physicians, has served as chairman of the Department of Orthopaedic Surgery at Central DuPage Hospital, as co-medical director of Central DuPage Rehabilitation, and numerous hospital and health-related committees. He volunteers at the Lawndale Christian Medical Center. Dr. Watt is certified by the American Board of Orthopaedic Surgery with a Subspecialty Certificate in Orthopaedic Sports Medicine. He is a member of the Arthroscopy Association of North America, and the American Orthopaedic Society for Sports Medicine.
