Mary Ling, M.D. graduated from the University of Illinois at Chicago with a Bachelor of Science degree in bioengineering as well as a Master of Science degree in mechanical engineering. Dr. Ling went on to earn her medical degree from Northwestern University Medical School in 1993. She completed a five-year residency in orthopaedic surgery at the Mayo Clinic in Rochester, Minnesota in 1998 followed in 1999 by a fellowship in hand and microvascular surgery at the Indiana Hand Center, Indianapolis.
Dr. Ling joined Hand Care Associates, a division of OAD Orthopaedics, in September 1999. She serves patients at both Central DuPage Hospital and Edward Hospital.
Dr. Ling has special interest in traumatic reconstruction of the elbow, wrist and hand, as well as peripheral nerve injury, sports injuries and congenital hand deformities. She is certified by the American Board of Orthopaedic Surgery, with a Certificate of Added Qualification in Surgery of the Hand. In September 2004, Dr. Ling was the first female to be inducted into the Chicago Society for Surgery of the Hand.
