Aaron A. Bare, M.D.graduated from Northwestern University with a Bachelor of Science degree in biology and psychology and received his medical degree from Northwestern University Medical School.  He continued his training at Northwestern, where he completed both a surgical internship and orthopaedic surgery residency.  As a sports medicine fellow at the Southern California Orthopedic Institute (SCOI) in Los Angeles, Dr. Bare trained under world-renowned shoulder arthroscopist Dr. Stephen Snyder, focusing on the treatment of athletic injuries of the shoulder and knee and providing care to recreational, amateur, and professional athletes.  Following his sports medicine fellowship, Dr. Bare completed a foot and ankle fellowship in Oakland, California in 2005.

A scholarship athlete in Men's Swimming at Northwestern University, Dr. Bare was the swim team captain in 1994, earned four Division I varsity letters and served as Northwestern's athletic representative to the 1994-1995 Big Ten Conference, in addition to being voted an Academic All-American 1993-1995.

Joining OAD in 2006, Dr. Bare is an orthopaedic surgeon specializing in the care of shoulder and knee injuries.  Areas of expertise include sports medicine and arthroscopy, with special interests in shoulder, knee, hip and ankle arthroscopy.  With over a dozen published articles, Dr. Bare has presented his research both nationally and internationally.  He is on the teaching faculty of the Arthroscopy Association of North America and teaches arthroscopic skills and techniques to orthopaedic surgeons around the country.  

Board eligible by the American Board of Orthopaedic Surgery, Dr. Bare is a member of the Arthroscopy Association of North America, the American Orthopaedic Society of Sports Medicine and the American Academy of Orthopaedic Surgeons.
